Alternatives To Junk Food for Students

By Jerry Passi Eating healthy is important to avoid becoming fat and health problems. Foods for students can be a challenging subject because kids tend to eat sugar, sugar, sugar! Whether your child is in kindergarten or college, making healthy food choices throughout the day will certainly make a positive impact on their life and even their academic achievement. Providing your child with a balanced diet full of nutrients will go a long way towards helping them succeed. Simple changes and improvements can be very beneficial. Instead of allowing your students to buy school lunch each day, which can often times be high in fat and calories and lack nutritional value, pack students lunches from home. Include sandwiches on whole wheat bread and fresh deli meats. Instead of chips, pack whole grain crackers and yogurt for dessert! As an alternative to soda, encourage your student to drink low fat milk or flavored water with added nutrients. If you do allow your child to eat the schools lunch, only do so once or twice a week. All kids love to nibble and with so many enticing but unhealthy snacks on the market, it can be hard to make good choices. Keep unhealthy snacks such as cookies, chips and other foods high in sugars and fats out of your house! Instead, stock up on fruits and vegetables with fat free dip and other low calorie snacks. Cheese and whole grain crackers as well as sugar free popsicles are both tasty alternatives to other high calorie options. When your students deserve a treat, be sure to enforce moderation control and emphasize it as key in a healthy diet. If you are a college student, chances are you have a hard time finding affordable and healthful foods. All of those prepackaged meals and the food served in the dining halls are hardly what the dietician ordered! Eat plenty of salads loaded with healthy elements such as raisins, carrots, cucumbers and even sunflower seeds. When you add lots of alternatives to the lettuce, your salad will become as tasty as the burger and fries down the buffet line! Go easy on the dressing or choose a vinaigrette alternative. If you are out with friends for pizza, skip the double cheese and fatty pepperoni on your pie. Go for similarly tasty but more healthful alternatives such as pineapple and ham Hawaiian pizza. Have only two slices instead of three! For snacks, choose an apple or baked chips instead of macaroni and cheese or cookies. With simple and affordable alternatives to unhealthy foods, it is easy to be a student and still eat healthy foods and live a nutritious life. Fight temptation and when you just cant, dont forget to eat in moderation. Jerry Passi is with HealthFoodCompanies.com - a directory of health food companies. Day Job Killer-Review

By Jamie Clarkson "Day Job Killer" is the macho-sounding name given by Affiliate Project X creator Chris McNeeney to his latest product. Like AFfiliate Project X, or "APX," Day Job Killer is the result of an experiment Chris conducted with 12 individuals handpicked by him to teach how to make money online as an affiliate marketer. As Chris said regarding the APX 12, these individuals were personally "drip fed" and "force fed" the successful marketing techniques employed by him. As in APX, Day Job Killer, or "DJK," promises to reveal these "secret" ways to succeed as an internet marketer. DJK is the result of Chris McNeeney's months-long 'personal crusade against the industry," presumably the internet marketing industry. Calling himself the "industry party-crasher," Chris has expressed interest in teaching basic but effective ways for the "little guy" to make money at affiliate marketing online. In his mailing materials of early 2007 concerning his newest methods at that time - to be taught to the Chosen 12 or "dirty dozen," as he calls them - Chris stated, "These methods are responsible for $9,000 a day I had recently." This income, he further states, is not from his mailing list but only from pay-per-click or "PPC" advertising. The test cases that became Day Job Killer revolved around "some very unorthodox, new techniques to generate insane figures," according to Chris. Calling DJK "even bigger" than APX, Chris also remarked, "Nothing like this has been put out. Ever." That audacious claim certainly sounds like a bunch of hype. Affiliate Project X was big stuff, but many people thought it was just "rehash," so what about Day Job Killer? Well, for one thing, whatever was rehash in APX was put in a very original, succinct, comprehensible and precise manner, such that, rehash or not, it worked. One would expect no less, therefore, than the same quality with Day Job Killer. Providing more details about Day Job Killer, Chris stated: "The guide is very simply a series of step-by-steps methods that I have copied from six figure affiliates. Four months on the road, building up an understanding beyond Project X. "It's that simple. "I have taken from guys who don't speak at seminars, but do pull in six figures. Expect to hear from a 34-year-old from New York City, and a 'Cali whizz kid.' Let them tell you what they do and how they do it. I met them. Your favorite guru knows some of them - but he won't discuss them. "And it gets deeper... "Apart from networking with underground affiliates and moneymakers, I have also been listening to what my 14,000 strong network of customers and affiliates have been up to - what works in the trenches. What your problems are and how to solve them." Day Job Killer has all the earmarks of a well-created product that lays out simple instructions on following a blueprint for affiliate-marketing success. Jamie Clarkson has been online since 1995. 9 Myths About Being Single

By Susan Dunn More than 48% of US households are headed by unmarried individuals. The American Association for Single People projects that by 2010, 47.2% of adults will be unmarried. Being single does not mean being alone, nor does being in a couple for the holidays ensure happiness. Lets dispel some myths! Myth #1: Single people are lonely at Christmas. Reality: No moreso than anyone else. This is a projection of people who fear being alone for the holidays, a fear of the unknown. Myth #2: Single people need you to invite them over to your celebration. Reality: Contrary to perceptions, single people are v. popular at Christmas, and we generally receive lots of invitations. If you want us over, we'd love to be invited, but would prefer it's because you like us, not because you think we need it. Myth #3: Single people dont know what to do for the holidays. Reality: On the contrary, we are used to planning our social lives actively, good at generating options, and used to making unilateral decisions. Were pros! Myth #4: Single people are available to perform certain social tasks during the holiday celebration. Reality: We like to be cherished guests. We dont like to be the steer among the bulls invited to get people who dont get along off of one anothers throats. If you dont like your family and friends, why would we? Can you come over and help out with Aunt Edna? is not an invitation. Myth #5: Single people are available to do certain physical tasks during the holiday celebration. Reality: Nor is this an invitation: Its Johns in-laws and I want to impress them. Can you come over and help with the hors doeuvres? As best-friend, yes; as the only working-guest, absolutely not. Myth #6: Single people are misfits, outsiders. Reality: On the contrary, most of us have highly developed Emotional Intelligence skills; thats the reason we get the rescue us invitations! Outsiders? Its about half the adult world now. Take another look! Myth #7: If a single person isnt part of a couple, or doesnt spend Christmas with a couple or family, they will be miserable. Reality: Come on now. Is it so horrible to celebrate Christmas on a cruise to the Caribbean, coming back rested, tanned and relaxed? Myth #8: The only happy way to spend the holidays is if you are a couple or part of a family. Reality: If that were so, half the articles on the Internet this time of year wouldnt be about how to cope with the annual holiday dinner with the relatives, and the divorce rate in the US wouldnt be 50%. Myth #9: Single people have nowhere to go for the holidays. Reality: Nowhere to go? We have everywhere to go! I loved my years as Mrs. Santa. Now Im on-the-go. Im thinking about Germany this year. There are so many places to go I cant decide!! In fact I have so many neat ideas for spending Christmas on-your-own, if youre stuck Ill give you a FREE coaching session. Purity

By Mellody Davis Is being purified only for the men of the cloth? Well lets see what the Bible says. In the book of 2Samuel David sang a song to the Lord. He says at verse 25 The Lord has rewarded me according to my righteousness, according to my cleanness in his sight. What a wonderful phrase, and heartfelt passage, to be able to sing about the good things the Lord has bless you with. It is also good to ask for forgiveness, in the book of Psalm 51:10 it says Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me. Now in Psalm 199:9 it says How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word. I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from you commands. I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. Praise be to you, O Lord; teach me your decrees. In the book of Isaiah 52:11 it says Depart, Depart, go out from there! Touch no unclean thing! Come out from it and be pure, you who carry the vessels of the Lord. But you will not leave in haste or go in flight; for the Lord will go before you, the God of Israel will be your rear guard. In the book of Matthew 5:8 it says Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. It says in the book of 1Timothy 5:22 it says Do not be hasty in the laying on of hands, and do not share in the sins of others. Keep yourself pure. Stop drinking only water, and use a little wine because of your stomach and your frequent illnesses. The sins of some are obvious, reaching the place of judgement ahead of them; the sins of others trail behind them. In the same way, good deeds are obvious, and even those that are not cannot be hidden. Now look in the book of Hebrews 13:4 it says Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral. Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you. So we say with confidence, The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me? Now look at what John wrote in 1John 3:1 it says How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Dear Friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. Everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself, just as he is pure. In the book of Titus 2:11 it says For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to say NO to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hopethe glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good. Now in the book of 1John 1:8 it says If we claim to be without sins, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives. In the book of 2Corinthians 6:3 it says We put no stumbling block in anyones path, so that our ministry will now be discredited. Rather, as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: in great endurance; in troubles, hardships and distresses; in beatings, imprisonments and riots; in hard work, sleepless nights and hunger; in purity, understanding, patience and kindness, in the Holy Spirit and in sincere love; in truthful speech and in the power of God; with weapons of righteousness in the right hand and in the left; through glory and dishonor bad report and good report; genuine, yet regarded as impostors; known, yet regarded as unknown; dying and yet we live on; beaten, and yet not killed; sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; poor, yet making many rich; having nothing, and yet possessing everything. In conclusion look at the book of Philippians 4:8 it says Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirableif anything is excellent or praiseworthythink about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in meput it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you. Deciphering PPC Search Engine Marketing

By Shawna Ingram While there are many ways to market online, pay per click search engine marketing remains popular and effective. But if youre a rookie, dont start out alone. You need some training before you begin. Signing up for a pay per click search engine can be a bit scary. You are asked for your financial and personal information so they can get paid for your advertising. Unlike shopping online, where you understand what youre purchasing, immediately, you are asked to set up ads, bid on keywords - what the heck are keywords, you ask! Then you need to set your budget and set a maximum bid price. These may be completely unknown to you as you begin your campaign. Accurate personal information is important, of course. They will need to bill you throughout the course of your advertising. Some SE companies bill you up front, while others bill you after the fact. During the set up process, you will be given a lot of rules that you need to agree to before the process is complete. You will be tempted to skip over those rules like I did. But dont do it! Take notes on a sheet of paper labeled with that particular search engine. Example: Yahoo will remove any keywords or ad copy with the word job if youre advertising work at home opportunities. That can be frustrating because work at home work is considered by many to be their job and most searchers search with that term. But theres no way around it. Accept it and move on! Google is okay with the word job, but you cant use any keywords or ad copy with terms related to data entry or type at home. You cant even advertise anything related to these on your website! This can be frustrating while promoting legitimate, solid data entry opportunities like those I have on my directory. I have prepared two separate pages to comply with Google's requirements, the second of these, I use strictly for Google advertising. You need to know the individual rules and regs before you begin working with a particular SE. And keep up to date as they change the rules often. Usually they will notify you through your email with changes. (Another reason to make sure your info is accurate!) Now its time to write your ads. Keep your tab open for your search engine of choice and go to another tab. In tab 2, search for your particular niche in one of the major search engines. Read the ads. Dont copy them word for word, but see what catches your eye. Ask yourself why did this particular ad catch my eye and make me want to learn more? Take it apart and build on that for your own ads. Again, take notes and refer to them often, adding to them as you see what works, and doesnt work for you. On some networks, your ads will begin running right away. On others, your ads will need to be reviewed and approved first by the editorial staff. Now its time for keywords. Keywords are the terms you search for when you are looking for something on the internet of interest. For example, when you were just searching for ads to give you ideas, what terms did you use for the search? So lets say you are marketing dog food. Your search words - or keywords, may include, Purina, dog food, food for your dog, etc. What else can you think of? Ask your friends or co-workers what they would search for if they searched for dog food online to get some ideas. Dont be afraid to add many keywords. You will come up with more and can add them any time. Now comes the scariest part of all. You will need to set a budget and a maximum cost for your keywords. My suggestion - start small while you learn! Then monitor daily to make sure youre where you want to be budget wise. You might set your budget at $5 per day, which will be about $155 per month. You should be seeing some income from your advertising so the money isnt just going down the drain. Test and track! And I personally dont care if Im first on the list, so I dont set my maximum cost per click very high. But you do want to get traffic. Work with this to get it right for you. Finally, dont be afraid to pick up the phone and ask for help. Most of the SE have great staff members that are happy to answer your questions. This is a great resource I have used many times. The big 3 Search Engines are Google, Yahoo, and Microsoft adcenter. Each has its own quirks. And they differ as far as user format. Learn what you can through your reading. Learn more from experience. Then tweak as needed. At some point, it will feel almost like youre playing a game of chess against a totally unpredictable competitor! Get the upper-hand and enjoy the experience! Check-mate! Shawna Ingram is webmaster of http://www.pluginyourprofit work at home directory. Hemming Tips

By Carmel Baird The finishing off when sewing an outfit is so very important. Those final steps to making your garment look professional not home made, are well worth the extra effort and gaining the knowledge as to how to do it and taking the time to practise how to do it. Many an outfit has been spoilt by not having the hemming sit nicely. Like most things with sewing, it is in the little techniques that your sewing pattern will not have instructions for. Techniques like the one I am about to reveal to you are usually learnt from professional sewing instructors but now always. Mostly, I learnt all mine from my Mum who learnt them from her Mum and so my daughter has learnt them from me.. This hemming tip is so important as a badly sewn hem can ruin a garment. like everything, once you learn the right way to do something, it becomes much easier. Now here are the tips when hemming your garment. The hem finish can make or break a garment. Here is how to 'make' a garment with the all important 'get it right hemming technique'. When turning up a hem on the bottom of a shirt, normally the instructions will say to turn up double, depending on your fabric, this could be too bulky. If you have an overlocker/serger, then overlock the raw edge and turn up once. No bulk. When your hem is wider at the turn up than where it will be sewn in place, often times there will be too much fullness to get a nice even hem to sew. To avoid any puckering, where your turn under is, run a row of stitching, if you loosen your tension a little, this could be enough to ease the fullness out, but in case it isnt what you do is:- Pin at your side seams, front and back centers and then taking a pin, slip it under a stitch in the center between each pin and pull up until the hem fits evenly between each section. Pin the hem in place and finish by hand or machine whichever method the pattern calls for. Use this tip for all the hemming on your garment, sleeves, jackets, skirts anywhere you need to hems. Freedom of Religion

By Lance Winslow True freedom of religion must include an individuals right to no religion. If we are to say that in our country we maintain freedom of religion than we must also respect those who do not wish to believe in any religion at all. Whereas our Constitutional Rights include these freedoms rarely in our country are Atheists really accepted in our communities. Recently I discussed this with a gentleman at a coffee shop and he was of no religion and whenever the subject came up, a religious person gave him dirty looks or an attitude of disgust. Several have told him that their religion did not allow them to talk with him or associate with him in anyway. In fact one lady had even told him in there is a verse in the Bible, which she quoted, but he did not remember; telling her she must not listen to him and she left his company. If one thinks about it a bit we have a real problem if society wishes to outcast Atheists and any Agnostic unwilling to discuss conversion. In the Christianity faith we are told to spread the word and convert such folks, however if they are not ready yet or do not wish to covert, rather than taking them on as a personal challenge, perhaps we might respect their views and leave them alone. After all they do have the same rights as us of Freedom of Religion or Freedom of NO religion. Recently I tried this out and when asked what my faith was as an experiment, I proclaimed; I am an Atheist and I was immediately met with as shocked look on the face of my newly found conversationalist who had in his hand a Bible with versus underlined. Wow; I thought, it is true, the actual atheist I talked to had told me of this problematic issue? Well then if we are so quick to tell others to have religious tolerance, yet we ourselves are have none for those who believe different or believe in none we are living in hypocrisy and that is wrong. After seeing the look of horror on the man with the Bible, he said let me ask you a question? I thought well surely friend. He said well if you do not believe in a higher power, then how do you remain a moral person? After this question I was shocked? I thought how arrogant that you would have to believe in his particular religion I think Baptist to be a moral person? After all are those of the Jewish Faith, Islam, Buddhist, Hindu somehow amoral? I told explained this concept to him and said that in fact I was moral than him for I did not judge a mans morality by his beliefs. Although I tried to explain this to him, he did not understand. I personally do not know many atheists, as there are not very many true atheists, but the ones I do know I think are completely trustworthy and even brilliant and I would trust them before most others I know who claim to be good Christian Folks. In fact as a percentage goes, I completely trust 40% of the atheists I know, would trust about 30% of the others and semi trust 20% and only 10% I do not trust. Yet when taking this to those who I know in the Christian Faith, there are only 25% I completely trust and the rest completely question. Have you looked into these percentages with those you know? If we in our country are going to preach religious tolerance and follow our religious doctrines shouldnt we dump the hypocrisy and live our own demands? What do you think about such thoughts?
